The Benefits uPVC

By many standards uPVC is a new building material, first used broadly during and after World War II to meet many of the critical infrastructure and safety needs of that time, it blends attributes of traditional materials with advanced performance characteristics of today’s and tomorrow’s building products. Durable, environmentally sustainable, versatile and low maintenance requirements are just a few of the properties that have propelled the growing use of uPVC in the built environment and made it one of the most important materials used in the building industry progressively over the last 60 years.

REDUCES NOISE

Double-glazing your home can provide massive reductions in outside noise levels; up to 44db of reduction can be achieved (industrial ear muffs provide only 33db) making Thermaglaze windows and doors perfect for busy roads and noisy flight paths.

SAVES ENERGY

Thermaglaze double glazed windows can provide significant reductions in heating and cooling costs. Recent surveys show up 48% of household energy is lost through single glazed aluminium windows and doors. Roof insulation is quite ineffective without also insulating your windows and doors. Thermaglaze uPVC windows perform 3 times better than aluminium frames.

LOW MAINTENANCE

Thermaglaze double glazed window and door systems do not require repainting and costly maintenance. In fact, an occasional wipe with a damp cloth and oiling of the mechanical fittings is all that is required!

FIRE RESISTANT

Thermaglaze windows and doors have been tested to prove that the uPVC used in the
manufacture of our frames is self extinguishing and will not hold a flame, making them a perfect choice for a safe home for you and your family.

QUALITY CONSTRUCTION

Double glazing creates a cleaner, healthier and more comfortable environment. Condensation, a result of moist inside air meeting a cold surface can cause mildew and mould. Our double glazing reduces thermal conductivity making your windows warm, dry and condensation free.

WEATHER RESISTANT

Thermaglaze double glazed windows and doors are manufactured specifically for the Australian climate. They will not warp, twist, crack or discolour and will be unaffected by saltwater air, they are UV resistant water tight and draught proof.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

In addition to Thermaglaze windows and doors being double-glazed, our frames are manufactured from high quality uPVC (Unplasticised Polyvinyl Chloride). The production of uPVC requires a fraction of the energy that it does to manufacture aluminium, and being predominantly made from salt (Chloride) which is renewable and plentiful, this makes for a better alternative to wood, where, as we know nature is struggling to keep up with our demand!

INCREASED SECURITY

All Thermaglaze windows and doors have multipoint locking systems, this means, one turn of the handle and your window or door will be secured from several points around the perimeter. All this, along with double-glazing, will provide your home with the security to protect you and your family.
